Our TV Star

Jackson had the opportunity to be in a commercial for a local fundraiser, Operation Twinkle Toes. Maurice Lucas the assistant coach for the Portland Trail Blazers was backing this event so they filmed this commercial to bring awarness to the fundraiser. One of the Mom's in my playgroup is friends with the women that founded this event. So our playgroup was the source for all the babies in the commercial.

The Never Ending Day!

We flew back from Denver on Monday April 7th. We could tell Jackson was getting a cold (again). So the night before we flew out was a little rough because he was very congested and having a hard time sleeping. Jackson woke up with a 102 degree fever and on the way down to breakfast ended up throwing up (Outfit #1). I thought it was just from all the mucus in his throat. We were a little nervous about how he would do on the flight but he seemed to be in good spirits so off we went to the airport.


Jackson had missed a morning nap so once we boarded the plane I just nursed him and he fell fast asleep. He slept for about an hour and I thought to myself oh this flight is going to be a breeze. So I gave him a little lunch, which he didn't seem very interested in. Then all of a sudden came the throwing up again......this just wasn't a little mucus throw up though it, just kept coming, and coming, and coming until he and I were both covered. I was speechless! Didn't even know what to do. I felt so sorry for the poor lady sitting next to us as we scrambled out of our seats to the bathrooms to try and clean up. We had one flight attendant that wasn't the least bit helpful and thankfully the other flight attendant was very sweet. We managed to get Jackson stripped (Outfit #2) but I didn't pack any extra clothes for myself in my carry on so I was stuck in puke soaked pants. Thankfully Jackson fell back asleep and the rest of the flight went fairly smooth.


Once we arrived home we got our bags, took the shuttle to our car and started home. We made it to 185th and realized we had left a bag on the shuttle bus......we were so tired and just wanted to be home. So we turned around went to pick up our bag as it had my IPod and Doug's PSP in it. On the way home (take 2) Jackson was acting hungry so I made him a bottle and was feeding him in the car, when he threw up again. So by this time I think we need to call the doctor when we get home.


4:30 pm - I call the doctor, they say if you can make it here in twenty minutes the doctor will see us, if not we need to go to Urgent Care. Well we can't make it back out to 185hth in 20 minutes so we head to Urgent Care. After 40 minutes at Urgent Care they tell us they don't deal with Pediatric Hydration so we need to go to St. Vincents ER. This is the day that will not end!


6:00pm - We check in at the ER. Jackson was so tired and hungry. They tell me not to feed him since he has been throwing up. We are at the ER until 10:00pm. We find out Jackson has an ear infection. After some anti-nausea medication and a script for some anti-biotics we are thankfully headed home.

Avalanche Fans! We bought Jackson a stuffed monkey (shown in the picture) and he just loves it. We got home and he gives the monkey hugs, it is very cute!

Like Father, Like Son!

Jackson recently went on his first Airplane ride to Denver, CO. We went for the weekend to see a Colorado Avalanche game. We had a blast! Jackson ended up getting sick while we were there, which made the way home a bit of a challenge, details to come in the next post.
